Port Noir

Hard-hitting alt-rock trio Port Noir blends old-school rock with contemporary pop, r&b and hip-hop in a creative and minimalistic fashion. Inspired by bands such as Rage Against the Machine, Death from Above 1979, The Weeknd, Daft Punk, Queens of the Stone Age this trio makes for a fresh and interesting addition to the rock scene. Consisting of Love Andersson (bass, vocals), AW Wiberg (drums) and Andreas Hollstrand (guitar, keys and backing vocals) they’re a band that’s been around since 2011. During the years they’ve toured and played extensively through Europe supporting In Flames, Pain of Salvation, and Karnivool to name a few. In October 2018 Old Fashioned was released as the first single off their upcoming album The New Routine which is set for release May 10, 2019.
The New Routine doesn’t hold any punches. Its direct, energetic and intense soundscape grips the listener from the first second and floors you over and over.

“We went back to the music we grew up with and tried to find out what got us into playing in a band in the first place and fused it with the music that inspires us today. The result is our best album yet. It’s The New Routine.”

Working with different producers and engineers over the years Port Noir decided to bring them all together to work on The New Routine. Together with Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In flames), David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia) and Lawrence McRory (Darkane, FKU) Port Noir has developed a unique sound that has characterized all their albums.

In 2015, single Neon was released and got picked up by the swedish national radio station P4 and won not only the title Song of the week but was also placed in Top 20
in Song of the year. September 2013 debut album Puls was released and besides getting top ratings in all major music magazines Port Noir was nominated for Breakthrough of the year at the Bandit Rock Awards.

“We wanted to create something new and fresh, trying to get away from all previous boundaries. A couple of days after the release of our first demo song Sun dè Man, Anders Fridén, singer of In Flames contacted us and wanted to sign us to his label Razzia Notes and that’s where our journey really took off.“

During 2012 they recorded their debut album ”Puls” with Producer Daniel Bergstrand in Dugout Studios and in September 2013 the album was released. In 2014 Port Noir joined by producer Daniel Bergstrand went to Mijas, Spain to record their second album Any Way the Wind Carries. The album release was unfortunately delayed until 2016. In the meantime EP Neon was recorded and released in October 2015. Any Way the Wind Carries was released April 2016 and was very well recieved by critics and fans.
