Bent Knee : launch video for 'Catch Light'; new album 'You Know What They Mean' out now

Bent Knee, the Boston-based sextet that Brooklyn Vegan called “a true powerhouse,” have released their new album, You Know What They Mean via InsideOutMusic.
To celebrate they have launched a video for the track ‘Catch Light’, watch it now here:

"On this album we wanted to do more with less,” explains Vince Welch (synth/guitar/production). “For ‘Catch Light’, we traded some of the more cerebral forms and rhythms we've used in the past for something more guttural. We're really happy with how director Adam Peditto and producer Katie Dvorak (of The World Is A Beautiful Place & I'm No Longer Afraid To Die) captured this approach in the video as well."

We were in the best place that we’ve been in,” says singer and keyboard player Courtney Swain of the new album. “In terms of people and as a group, where I think we learned to pick our battles and just have fun writing this. So this album really portrays us as people, in addition to our music, a lot more than any of our other records. We’re a big group with a lot of different personalities and a lot of voices, but our music brings us together. On the past albums, you could hear the music, but you couldn’t really hear who we are.

On 'You Know What They Mean', the outfit’s myriad influences are distilled into a deeply moving art-form that defies categorization, merging texture and style into music that’s thrilling, addictive, and unapologetically original. Lead singer and keyboardist Courtney Swain’s soaring vocals again prove to be instantly arresting whereas guitarist Ben Levin, bassist Jessica Kion, drummer Gavin Wallace-Ailsworth, violinist Chris Baum and sound designer Vince Welch (who also mixed the album) shine with an expert performance that brilliantly fuses a vibrant selection of moods and dynamics.

‘You Know What They Mean’ is available as a Limited Edition CD Digipak, Gatefold LP + CD & as digital album, featuring the previously released single ‘Catch Light’ & artwork by Riki Nitabaru. Order now here: https://bent-knee.lnk.to/YouKnowWhatTheyMean
